International students aren't anything unusual in distance education - as a German student at the Open University, for example, I feel decidedly mainstream. The University of Duisburg-Essen's MA in Educational Media as well as the Certificate in Educational Media have seen plenty of students from neighbouring countries as well. Still, when you offer a program in German, the overall international appeal is somewhat limited. So is our experience with international students from outside Europe.
Tomorrow, the first "English edition" of our Educational Media certificate is launched, with students from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South America.
One question remains: When does the first student from Antarctica or Australia register for our program?
So Long, and Thanks for All the Ghoti.

Hello,
I just came across your blog entry, while I was checking out the German version of the UDE Educational Media certificate program. Do you know if another "English edition" of the certificate will be offered in the future? I can't seem to find any reference to it on the UDE website. Many thanks! - Anne
Hi Anne,
We're currently working on adding more information on options for international students to our website. Till then, Britta Voß (britta.voss [at] online-campus.net) and Nadine Ojstersek (nadine.ojstersek [at] online-campus.net) will be happy to answer any questions :-) I cannot make an official statement here, of course, but I consider it likely that there are going to be more English options in the future :)
Judith
Hi Judith,
Many thanks for your quick response! I will contact Britta or Nadine for more information.
All the best,
Anne
Great :-)
BTW, some extra information is now online: http://online-campus.net/node/2302.
