If you're interested in African American Vernacular English and enjoy reading blogs, Word: The Online Journal on African American English might be for you. This blog is maintained by Renée Blake (New York University) and a group of her students who blog, organize guest bloggers, moderate comments, etc. What a wonderful way for students to meaningfully engage with sociolinguistic topics!
I had the opportunity to listen to some of these students discuss their work at this year's AAL2 - their enthusiasm was quite infectious :-)
So Long, and Thanks for All the Ghoti.
